Day 25 - Willis Creek

Yup – someone really built this. The most important sign though is espresso. Just don't try to get one after about 2pm in these parts.

Ella looks dubiously at the ice lining the banks of Willis Creek.

Willis Creek has several sections of narrows, each one a little deeper than the last and all with their own personalities.

Ellie navigates the wet bits.

The creek is perennial, but it's supposed to be intermittently below  ground.  Not today.

Shadowy plants – and other things.

That mud splat really bothers me.

This section features a bunch of free-standing sculptures.

Canyon master rabbit converses with her canyon compatriates.

Sunlight comes through a  narrow slit a hundred feet up.

We head back the way we came as the day winds down.  It gets very cold and dark in these canyons well before sunset.

We are all covered in thick, goopy mud from trooping through the creek bed.  Wendy had to hose Ellie off once we got home.
